Albert ATV Fun Tours Moorea Review
I hate early mornings, but I love cool excursions. See the struggle? Anyway, today we are embarking on a tour of the island via ATV. There are a lot of companies that offer this excursion, and we went through Albert ATV Fun Tours Moorea.
ATVing (is that an actual word? Well, it is now!) around Moorea was one of my most favorite things we did in French Polynesia, even though it rained for a portion of the excursion.
The weather in Moorea is unpredictable, but the rain didn’t take away from the wonderful experience. And really, what’s better than ATVing through pineapple fields on an exotic island – up and down steep mountains, to gorgeous overlooks? I really can’t think of anything.
A driver picked us up from our hotel and took us to Albert ATV Fun Tours’ hub, then gave us a quick overview and safety instructions. I never once felt unsafe. They provided the helmets, as well as a shower cap-type hair cover for underneath. You can easily bring a bag and keep it in the compartment located in the back of the ATV, and they even supply ponchos and water bottles.
Josh and I shared an ATV, as I didn’t exactly want to drive the entire time (I’m just not a huge fan of driving in general), but I did want to experience it, so we took turns and what a blast!
Definitely wear sneakers and clothing that you don’t care for. My pants got so muddy that I ended up throwing them out!
So where did we go? The question is more like where didn’t we go. Like I said above, we traveled through pineapple fields, up to the highest of peaks, and through the most lush forrest you will ever see.
We took a break to actually eat some of the amazing pineapples, and while I happen to dislike them in general, Josh said they were the best he’s ever eaten.
One of my favorite peaks we visited was Mt. Routi, which overlooks the two bays, Opunochu Bay and Cook’s Bay. The “stuff” in the water in the below picture is our hotel, the Hilton Moorea. Scroll down a bit further for a zoomed in picture of it too!
This is definitely a must do in Moorea, and for sure check out Albert ATV Fun Tours. The cost for one ATV (that we shared) was 21,000 xpf, which when we went, equaled to about $210.
