My Disney’s Chef Mickey’s review is a little odd, considering we ate at so many great onsite restaurants this trip, however I chose to focus on this one because it’s possibly the most popular character breakfast. Located in Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Chef Mickey’s is an easy walk from Disney’s Magic Kingdom. I’m not kidding when I say this eatery is certainly popular (re: loud and crowded), but don’t let that deter you – it has some great aspects as well.
Today’s agenda: the Wizarding World Of Harry Potter! But first, breakfast at Chef Mickey’s!
Because we wanted to spend all day at Universal Studios, breakfast was a really early! After a late night at the Magic Kingdom, I was not feeling it.
And then there’s Josh, with his annoyingly chipper morning self, no matter how early it is.
He tells me to be excited, because we’re in Disney. I know this, and I’m excited. But it’s EARLY, so this is the best he’ll get from me.
We walked outside to find it raining (BTW – do you love the adorable sweatshirt I got yesterday at the Magic Kingdom?!). Still, I’ll take rain in Florida over the snow that’s currently happening in New York.
We arrived at Chef Mickey’s, excited to be able to see Cinderella’s Castle from our table, despite it being slightly overcast.
The food was filling. We aren’t buffet people, so given that Chef Mickey’s is a buffet, we thought it was merely okay. Definitely better than we expected, but not nearly as good as our princess character breakfast at Akershus in Epcot. However, sometimes, no matter what the food is like, when Mickey and his friends visit your table as you eat, you love it anyway.
After breakfast, we purchased ponchos for later – just incase – and made our way to Islands of Adventure, eager to finally check out the Wizarding World of Harry Potter!
