After a delicious breakfast at Chef Mickey’s, it was off to Islands of Adventure. Josh and I could not wait to check out the new Wizarding World Of Harry Potter.
As soon as we entered Islands of Adventure, we went straight to the Harry Potter area. Our first stop was to visit the shoppes on Diagon Alley, which are just like the movies. Color me amazed.
We followed the movies – when you’re on Diagon Alley, you shop! The stores and their merchandise are so authentic – down to jellybeans that have those nasty flavors, just like in the movies. Ear wax and vomit, anyone?
As you walked “down the alley,” you’ll find “wanted” posters, and get this – the images move, just like in the movies.
They even have newspapers posted, with again, the moving images!
And beware of the Book Of Monsters – it bites!
So many fun things from the movies – and so many things you can actually purchase (wands, robes, scarves, etc) – this is a Harry Potter fan’s heaven for sure!
One of the coolest attractions is to get fitted for your wand, just like Harry does!
After a butterbeer, we made our way to Hogwarts for the Harry Potter ride!
To get to the ride, you walk through Hogwarts – visitors will find Dumbledore’s office, the dark arts classroom, the area where the pictures/staircases move, etc.
The actual ride itself is out of this world. I will say, the good thing about the rain was there were no lines! We were able to walk on this ride three times. One of the best rides I’ve ever been on!
Once we were done with Harry and friends, we ventured to enjoy the rest of Islands of Adventure.
After Islands of Adventure, we headed next door to Universal Studios.
Once the park closed, we made our way to Downtown Disney for dinner. By now, the weather was great and we had a blast walking around.
It was late by the time we got back to Disney’s Saratoga Springs. Thankfully, we were able to sleep in the next day before taking the Magical Express to the airport.
All in all, it was a quick trip, and we were not looking forward to going home. Wish we could stay in Disney, at least until Winter’s over!
