I want to share one of my favorite travel accessories, the Gorillapod by Joby.
While Josh and I sometimes travel with family, most of the time, it’s just the two of us. When it’s just us, we find it hard to get pictures of us together, unless we ask someone we don’t know, or do one of those annoying selfie attempts, which never come out well. There’s nothing more annoying than asking a stranger to take your picture. I always cringe a little when I hand over my expensive camera to a stranger. I’ve heard horror stories of people taking them and running, especially in foreign countries. Thankfully, that’s never happened to me, and with my Gorillapod, I can now avoid the issue altogether.
So what is the Gorillapod? It’s the end to that awkward moment of asking a random person to take your picture.
The Gorillapod is essentially a flexible tripod/stand. It’s legs can bend, move, and wrap around basically anything. It makes those “selfie” pictures turn out amazing, because you’re not using one hand while balancing the camera. Now, the shot isn’t of your nose and half of your husbands face (ya’ll know what I’m talking about).
Simply place the Gorillapod however you’d like (remember, the legs bend!), set your camera’s timer, smile, and you’re done. Easy.
The best part is you don’t even need a flat surface. The Gorillapod can be placed on – or even wrapped around – practically anything. Seriously, how cool! There’s even a level to make sure the shot is straight on.
The Gorillapod comes in different sizes, so it’s able to safely support the weight of any camera.
Best. Invention. Ever.
