At just over a 2 hour drive from NYC, Mystic Connecticut has so much to offer! There’s a seaport with old ships, shopping, restaurants, and even an aquarium! There are activities galore, and all are within either a short walk or drive from the best hotel in the area, the Hilton Mystic.
Location, location, location. The Hilton Mystic is located across the street from the Mystic Aquarium, making it THE place to stay.
Renovated a few years ago, the Hilton Mystic is clean, modern, and comfortable, with small nautical touches, and an unbeatable location.
As soon as you enter, there’s a small outdoor lounge with cozy seating, fire pits, and adorable string lights. You guys, it’s SO CUTE.
Unlike the other area hotels, the Hilton Mystic is full service, so it includes amenities like room service, and an onsite restaurant, called The Irons (fun fact: it’s named after Mystic’s last shipbuilders).

The lobby and hallways are bright and airy. Or, if you’re our fifteen month old, ample room to run around and be silly. Don’t worry though, it’s a family friendly atmosphere!
Rooms range from standard king/double, to larger deluxe king rooms, and rooms with whirlpool tubs. We stayed in a deluxe room, which had a large entry, couch, and desk area.

After a long day of sightseeing it’s nice to come back and relax, and the Hilton Mystic’s indoor pool is the perfect place to do just that.

Families can take a dip while watching a movie, and over the summer they host fun activities, like arts and crafts!

During our stay I had the pleasure of sitting down with Hilton Mystic’s general manager, and she let me know about all the fun things coming up this season, like poolside visits from a pirate! We definitely can’t wait to return!
The most popular package to book is the aquarium package, which includes accommodations for 2 adults and 2 children, a continental breakfast at the Irons, and aquarium tickets. However, if you find yourself, say, using points, or booking a room only rate, the Hilton Mystic offers DISCOUNTED aquarium tickets, and you want to buy them here! They sell for even less than when purchasing the advance rate on the Mystic Aquarium’s website.
