Another Hong Kong must see is called Avenue Of The Stars. It’s basically Los Angeles in Hong Kong. Located on Victoria Harbor in Kowloon, Avenue of the Stars celebrates Hong Kong’s film industry, complete with Bruce Lee statue.
Victoria Harbor is easily accessible from the East Tsim Sha Tsui metro stop (it’s the same stop you’d get off at for both the Hong Kong Art Museum and the Hong Kong Space Museum), just to give you an idea for sightseeing purposes.
When you walking around Avenue of the Stars, you will notice about nine red pillars along the promenade. They detail 100 years of Hong Kong’s cinema industry, and some of the cement plaques even have hand prints/autographs of Hong Kong’s most well known celebrities (very LA).
Even if you’re not into walking around and reading all the interesting facts, you should still go for the stunning view of Hong Kong Island alone. We visited at night, which is the obvious choice because Hong Kong completely lights up.
Tip: Be sure to arrive just before 8pm for an amazing light/fireworks show! It lasts about 15 minutes and is set to music each evening (weather permitting).
Personally, I could walk around and enjoy the Hong Kong skyline via Victoria Harbor and Avenue of the Stars for hours! It’s such a beautiful view!
Still lots more from Hong Kong to come!
