Another Hong Kong must see, Avenue Of The Stars, is LA in Hong Kong. Located on Victoria Harbor in Kowloon, Avenue of the Stars celebrates Hong Kong’s film industry, complete with Bruce Lee statue.
Victoria Harbor is easily accessible from the East Tsim Sha Tsui metro stop (also the same stop you’d get off at for both the Hong Kong Art Museum, as well as the Hong Kong Space Museum).
Walking around Avenue of the Stars, visitors will notice about nine red pillars along the promenade, which detail 100 years of Hong Kong’s cinema industry. Some of the cement plaques even contain hand prints and autographs of Hong Kong’s most well known celebrities (see, very LA).
Even if you’re not into walking around and reading all the interesting facts, you should still go for the view of Hong Kong Island alone. Stunning! We visited at night, which is the obvious choice because Hong Kong completely lights up.
Tip: Be sure to arrive just before 8pm for an amazing light show, which lasts about 15 minutes.
Set to music each evening (weather permitting), a spectacular show with lights, lasers, and fireworks is not to be missed.
Personally, I could walk around and enjoy the Hong Kong skyline via Victoria Harbor and Avenue of the Stars for hours!
Still lots more from Hong Kong to come, next up, I’m showcasing some of my favorite temples!
