Marriott’s Look No Further Price Guarantee is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Seriously. It’s one of the most amazing programs I’ve ever seen. I come from a long line of loyal Marriott Reward members, and this brand just continues to impress me.
So we’re in the midst of planning our summer getaway. We want to do it on the cheap, as we’re gearing up for a few upcoming big trips. Our plan is to head to Las Vegas (for the fourth time, but hey, its been a while). Then, rent a car and drive out to Palm Dessert, California, followed by Anaheim (Disneyland).
In Palm Desert, we’re staying at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort. I’ve had this hotel on my bucket list for a while. It just looks so amazing (restaurants, golf, spa, pools, etc), plus there’s a boat IN THE LOBBY.
Anyway, serious props to Marriott for honoring their Look No Further Price Guarantee.
According to Marriott, they guarantee their best rates, so if you find a cheaper rate elsewhere, they’ll not only honor the lower price, but give an additional 25% off. There are certain terms, like the rate’s conditions and room type have to match exactly.
It works. And I figure I’d post about my success.
So for three nights at this hotel via Marriott.com, before taxes, it comes to $118 for one night, and $195 each for the other two nights. It goes up for nights two and three because it’s over a weekend. These are already pretty great rates, so I was surprised to find even lower rates elsewhere, and even more surprised when Marriott honored these lower rates. But hey, every little bit counts.
I went on Kayak.com and did a search for the JW Marriott and our dates. I noticed a no-name website offering significantly lower rates. They were so low I thought there was no way Marriott would honor them. I figured I’d try, because the room types and everything were exact. So I booked the higher rates via Marriott’s website, and then filled out their claim form, which is also on their website.
Within 24 hours, Marriott got back to me. They not only honored the lower rate, but gave the additional 25% off, as advertised.
Are you ready for the numbers? Are you sitting down? Because you’re going to want to sit down to see these.
The first night is now costing only $67.27, and the other two weekend nights are costing $84.11 each night.
I can’t believe it.
Well done, Marriott, well done.
