Montjuic Barcelona is located just off Plaza Espana. It’s high up on a hill, with views overlooking the harbor and city. There’s a stunning castle, fortress, fountain, the National Palace, and so much more! Visitors can actually take a cable car up, however, we arrived from opposite side, and walked up by the National Palace instead.
We were so tired by the time we got here (we did this the same day we went to Parc Guell), so we didn’t make it much further than the Magic Fountain and National Palace (which now houses the National Art Museum of Catalonia). I’m a little sad we didn’t visit at night, as the Magic Fountain lights up to music. It looks stunning in pictures. Actually, I’m a little sad we didn’t get to explore more of this place. Nevertheless, my feet couldn’t take anymore from all the walking we did, so we headed back to the hotel earlier than expected.
My advice: Do NOT do this the same day you visit Parc Guell. It’s simply far too much walking! Or, take a longer break in between the two than we did.
Anyway, enjoy some pictures of what we did see of Montjuic below!
More from Barcelona coming up!
