Okay Florida, this cold weather is NOT COOL. I had a cute dress planned for today, but instead had to go with sweats and a PJ top because, silly me, I thought Florida is supposed to be WARM. I had nothing else to wear, and no way was I leaving the hotel in anything but long sleeves! Anyway, this morning we took the monorail from the Grand Floridian to Disney’s Polynesian Resort, for breakfast with Mickey at Ohana’s.
Just like at Akershus in Epcot, this character breakfast is served family style, and the Mickey waffles? To die for! Food wise, this is our favorite Disney breakfast.
We aren’t big Lilo and Stitch fans (truth be told, we’ve never seen the movie). During breakfast they come around, as do Mickey and Pluto.
After breakfast, our original plan was to go to Typhoon Lagoon. Unfortunately, it was far too cold for that. We made our way back to the Grand Floridian and sat with the concierge to try and come up with something else to do, but they didn’t offer any good suggestions. After yesterday, I was pretty done with visiting a park, so we ended up going back up to the room and sat on the balcony as we discussed our options.
Thankfully, it started to warm up, so we decided to relax by poolside at the Grand Floridian. Although it was still chilly out, the sun was shining (finally), and anytime it got too cold we took a dip in the hot tub.
Despite the Grand Floridian not offering any poolside service (first world problems, I know), it was actually a pretty wonderful setting to relax in.
By early evening, we headed back to our villa to change for dinner. We decided to do some shopping in Downtown Disney before grabbing food at our favorite sandwich eatery, Earl Of Sandwich. Of course I was still wearing my princess crown. When in Disney, right?
After shopping and food, we made it back to our villa just in time to catch the Magic Kingdom water parade and Epcot’s fireworks from our balcony!
