A short walk from the Mystic Aquarium is an adorable shopping center called Olde Mistick Village. Visitors feel like they are transported back in time, thanks to the shopping center’s unique architecture and historic looking buildings. It’s like walking around an old New England colonial village. Or what I’d imagine one to be like. The village is full of cool and interesting stores, cute places to relax, and good restaurants.
From a store that sells kites and wind chimes, to a Scandinavian shop selling all imported goods, visitors will find a nice assortment of specialty stores. There’s a toy store, home goods shop, a place that sells seaside gifts, and even an Alice In Wonderland themed tea shop. Olde Mistick Village is definitely worth a visit, even if it’s just to experience the unique atmosphere.
I loved all the hand crafted goods, and there are so many distinct stores that you want to visit them all. This isn’t your average mall, and you won’t find big chains here. The quaint shops peek your curiosity, and once inside the unique products make you dig deep in your pockets.
The village hosts an array of events, and there’s even a luxury theater onsite. Restaurants range from a steak loft to wood fired pizzas, and homemade ice cream and desserts. It’s such a fun and beautiful place to walk around.
