Welcome to Park Ciutadella Barcelona – a great point of interest worth visiting in this artsy city, and a personal highlight for me! I loved walking around this place, and especially loved hanging out underneath the arc de triomf (and yes, Paris isn’t the only place that has one)!
This gorgeous park houses museums, a large lake, La Cascada (a famous statue/fountain), and even a zoo! For decades this spot was the only place with green in an otherwise bustling city.
I would have loved to walk around more than we did, but it was so hot! Be sure to either enter or leave the park via the “arc de triomf” entrance. It was built in the 1800s for the Barcelona World Fair, and it’s quite the pretty spectacle!
I will say, the park is a lot smaller in person than it looks on a map, so don’t get too overwhelmed! Although there still is a lot of walking, especially when the temps are high, seeing La Cascada in person can’t be beat, which is the main thing we wanted to check out here. And I’ll admit, it was hard not to jump in because of the heat!
La Cascada is worth the visit – it’s so pretty! Central Park here in New York has nothing on this place!
Have you ever seen anything like this?!
More from Barcelona still to come!
