Prado Museum Madrid is the National Art Museum of Spain. One of the most awesome things about the Westin Palace Madrid is its proximity to everything. While Madrid has a fantastic metro system, we only used it once, thanks to our fabulous hotel’s location. Everything is just so close, not to mention, such a lovely walk. One of these amazingly close attractions, located right around the corner from our hotel, is the famous Prado Museum.
This place features so many fantastic collections, and is a must visit for any art lover!
If you do like we did, and don’t plan on spending an entire day here (because seriously, you CAN), be sure to pick up one of their free guidebooks, and check out their recommended things to see in the 1, 2, or 3 hours you’re visiting. This book highlights the most famous pieces and the best routes to get to them. It was definitely such a useful tool in gaining the most out of our time there.
Rembrandt is of course a must see, as are a number of works by Goya. However, my personal fave was Bosch’s The Garden of Earthly Delights.
Again, check the museum’s hours prior to visiting, and be aware that no photography is allowed inside the galleries.
More from Madrid coming up!
