Sailing the Phi Phi islands is one of the most stunning things you’ll ever do. The water is the most crystal clear, beautiful shade of blue ever. It’s PERFECT!
So what and where are the Phi Phi islands?
A short ride (via boat) from Phuket, you’ll find a bunch of islands close enough together that you can basically hop from one to the other (also via boat). The two main islands are Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Leh, and this area is more commonly known as the Phi Phi islands.
One of the first things you’ll see as you enter the Phi Phi islands area is Viking Cave (where they harvest edible bird’s nest), and yes, the water in these pictures is really the color you see!
There are so many little nooks and crannies in this area, full of random reefs and small beaches. We got to see a bunch of them, and they are so spectacular. You can sail around for days!
Occasionally, our boat would drop anchor in the middle of a small bay, and we’d just jump in the amazing warm blue waters.
It took a little coaxing to get me to go in at first, but Josh on the other hand, jumped right in as soon as he was given the okay by the captain.
Just to show you how clear the water is – I was able to see all the beautiful, colorful fish right from the boat, and seeing them while snorkeling was even more unbelievable!
Speaking of, one of my favorite things we did here was snorkel. I mean, I feel like it’s something you have to do while visiting and sailing the Phi Phi islands, as there are so many amazing spots!
