Today was a fairytale. That’s what it felt like being here. Sailing the Phi Phi islands is one of the most stunning things you’ll ever do. The water is this crystal clear, most perfect shade of blue. It’s one of those once in a lifetime experiences you won’t ever forget. I know I’ll be coming back to this post all the time just to reminisce.
So what and where are the Phi Phi islands?
A short boat ride from Phuket you’ll find a bunch of islands that are close enough together that you can basically hop from one to the other (via boat). The two main islands are called Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Leh, and they make up what’s popularly known as the Phi Phi islands.
One of the first things you’ll notice as you enter the Phi Phi islands area from Phuket is Viking Cave. This is where they harvest edible bird’s nest. It’s a risky job, but one of the most profitable local industries.
The water in these pictures is really the color you see! No editing involved. It’s seriously this perfect in real life.
There are so many little nooks and crannies you can sail into and explore. And lots of people do! I seriously could stare at the jagged, limestone cliffs and blue water all day, which is pretty much what I did! LOL! I was so floored by all of it. I’m going to say this a million more times, but it’s so, so pretty.
Occasionally our boat would drop anchor in the middle of these insanely gorgeous nooks, and we’d get to jump in to swim and snorkel. I still can’t believe I got to do this. I feel like being here was all a dream. It was so perfect.
Just to show you how clear the water is… I was able to see all the bright and colorful fish right from the boat! So insane!
There are seriously so many great snorkeling spots here with a lot to see!
More from the Phi Phi Islands coming up!
