If you’re looking for something fun to do while in St. Thomas, consider taking the ferry over to St. John for the day. It’s a quick 45 minute ride, and the trip is unbelievably gorgeous. I loved all the tiny islands we passed during the journey!
Most of St. John is completely untouched, as a lot of the land is still National Park (you can thank our cab driver for that little tidbit). This means pristine! Seriously, St. John is simply GORGEOUS! If you’re looking for a true Caribbean Island escape, this is the place to go!
Our ultimate destination in St. John was Trunk Bay. We heard really good things about it, and ended up being SUPER happy with our choice, even before we got there. I mean, just look at the drive:
Yep, that’s it from above.
Fact: Trunk Bay is going to be one of the nicest beaches you’ll ever visit, I promise.
We took some pics, lathered ourselves in sunscreen, and went right in!
One of the reasons we chose to visit Trunk Bay is because of its “self-guided snorkeling tour.”
There are numbered plaques throughout the reef, which point out different corals, areas of popular fish, and other points of interest.
After we finished snorkeling, we relaxed in the sand before swimming some more.
The ferry back to St. Thomas was just as easy and quick as it was on the way there.
St. John was definitely a highlight of our Caribbean island-hopping trip, and I highly recommend checking it out!
