After checking in to Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort, we were given adorable Disney anniversary pins and set off for Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park. I don’t really like to park hop, or spend half days at the parks, but really, with a trip this short, we had no choice.
We met up with friends, who live in Orlando, and they not only graciously drove us to Animal Kingdom, but also shared their free Disney passes with us. We didn’t pay for a single theme park ticket this entire trip, thanks to them. Our amazing, overly-generous friends weren’t even going to a theme park today, but came to get us in anyway. We love you guys, seriously!
We arrived at Animal Kingdom, and being a holiday weekend, it was crowded. Last year, our wedding took place over the holiday weekend, so we didn’t go to Disney until the week after, and the parks were empty. Clearly, that won’t be the case this trip!
So by the time we got here it was early afternoon. We knew we wouldn’t have an entire day like we usually do, so we made our way to the most important rides. First up, Mt. Everest!
Unfortunately, it was so busy it took us forever to get anywhere.
Since we first got to the park at 1pm, all the fast passes were gone, and we were stuck waiting in a super long line like normal folks. Luckily, Mt. Everest is awesome, and totally worth the wait.
After Everest, we headed to the Safari.
Again, we were met with another ridiculously long line that we graciously waited on.
In three hours we made it on 2 rides. Three Hours At Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park. That has to be a new low record. A travesty, I tell you! We really wanted to go on more, and the park still had another hour left before it closed, but didn’t want to hit the end of day crowds, so we made our way to Hollywood Studios.
