I posted a while back about what a hassle it was getting our tickets for the train from Barcelona to Madrid. I mean really, what a pain in the butt! Thankfully, once we actually got our tickets, the rest was hassle free, including the journey.
We took the metro right form our hotel to the train station. It was easy, except having to lug our luggage around with us, which is really my own fault, because I pack far too much. Once at the train station, finding where we were supposed to go was easy enough. It’s just a matter of matching the names and numbers. We had a direct train, which also made everything easy.
The ride itself wasn’t bad at all. Our luggage stayed with us the entire time, and there was a great spot in our car to store it. For $141.20 euros, we purchased preferred class tickets, which made for a lovely and comfortable three and a half hour journey.
The seats were roomy, and came complete with our choice of paper, breakfast – you name it. It was definitely an amazing way to arrive in Madrid, and I can’t wait to share the details of our time there. I LOVED Madrid and already can’t wait to return!
Coming up, highlights from Madrid!
