We’re in Hong Kong and ready to sightsee! Yay! First up, touring Victoria Peak Hong Kong!
We got around Hong Kong via the MTR, which was fabulous – super easy to navigate, clean, and just all around wonderful. We purchased two airport express passes, which allowed for two rides each on the airport express line (seriously NYC, commuter trains need to look like this!), and then unlimited MTR travel for three days or 72 hours, whichever is greater.
I purchased these before we left (for a discounted price), and picked them up upon arrival at Hong Kong International. It was a great value and much easier than having to buy a ticket each time. Really, this is a city you don’t mind taking public transportation in, and I actually preferred it over taking a taxi.
Hong Kong completely shines at night, so we designated it the perfect time to visit Victoria Peak, which is what we did on our very first night in this wonderful city.
Be sure to purchase your full tickets at the base, before taking the tram up, as it’s cheaper.
We paid extra to go to the very top, which is the only way to see anything without glass in your way. Unfortunately, it was SO cloudy that we didn’t get to fully appreciate the amazing view everyone raves about. I guess we’ll just have to return to Hong Kong on day!
We lucked out with no crowds, and were able to hop right on/off the tram.
